On 29 March, 2004 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a collector coin made of silver of a face value of HUF 5,000 on the occasion of the 28th Summer Olympic Games.

On the front side the inventive combination of the zeros of the 5,000 and the letters „O” and „R” of the inscription „FORINT” refer to the olympic games, together with the picture of the laurel. On the reverse side there are boxers fighting in the ring.

The coin was designed by Áron Gáti, sculptor.

The coin was made of silver with a fineness of 925 ‰, weighing 31.46 grams, with a diameter of 38.61 mm, with milled edge.

12,000 can be minted of this collector coin, out of which 9,000 will be minted with a special - so called „proof” - technology.

The public can purchase these coins at face value, at Hungarian Mint Ltd (Könyves Kálmán körút 38.) as well as in the shop of the Visitors’ Center of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Budapest, Szabadság tér 8/9) for three month after the issuance.
