Euro sale operations to support conversions of foreign currency loans delinquent for more than 90 days
24 April 2012. - The MNB is announcing euro sale operations to convert non-performing foreign currency loans into forint for credit institutions, as required by law. The Bank’s main aim is to reduce the demand for foreign currency in the market and prevent potential adverse macroeconomic effects. The operations are expected to have a smaller overall impact on the Bank’s foreign exchange reserves than the euro sale tenders related to early repayments of foreign currency loans.
