He started his professional career as an executive at the MNB’s Foreign Exchange Management Department in 1976. Between 1979–1985, he worked at Hungarian International Bank Ltd, the MNB’s London-based subsidiary. Returning to Hungary, he was Deputy Head of the Bank’s International Division.  Read more

Ferenc Karvalits

From 1990 he was head of the Liquidity and Risk Management Department at Magyar Hitelbank and became investment manager at Wallis International afterwards. From 1994 he worked for Magyar Hitelbank as managing director. From 1996 he was head of the Bank  Department at the MNB.  Read more

Ms Király was appointed as Deputy Governor of the MNB responsible for financial stability 3rd of July 2007. Prior to her appointment Ms Király was the CEO of the ITCB, a private training and consulting company in the banking sector.  Read more

Andrea Bártfai-Mager

Ms Bártfai-Mager graduated from the Budapest University of Economics and then went on to study at the Institute for International Relations in Moscow. She started her professional career at Postabank where she worked, among others, as leading risk manager and as the CEO’s professional secretary. Read more

 

Ferenc Gerhardt

Dr Gerhardt completed his studies at the Faculty of Industry of the Budapest University of Economics. He has a postgraduate degree in external economics from the University. In the early part of his professional career, between 1971 and 1978, he was Secretary of the Economic Council at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and member of the Economics Department staff.  Read more

János Bela Cinkotai

Elected on 21 March 2011 for a term of six years


Dr Cinkotai graduated from the Budapest University of Economics and the Péter Pázmány Catholic University. He has been researching the causes and effects of inflation for more than three decades. In 1990 Prime Minister József Antall appointed him the Government’s Chief Adviser.  Read more

György Kocziszky

Dr Kocziszky is Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Miskolc, Director of the Institute for Global and Regional Economics and Head of the Regional Economics Department. He graduated as a mechanical engineer at the Technical University of Heavy Industry of Miskolc in 1972.  Read more
