Counterparties

The institutions which are eligible to use central bank instruments are called central bank counterparties. With the exception of quick tenders, all the institutions (such as domestic banks, specialised and cooperative credit institutions) that are subject to reserve requirements are included in the list of the MNB’s eligible counterparties, provided they meet the technical requirements of the operations:

 

 

 

  • They are direct members of VIBER or direct members of the ICS,
  • In case of collateralised loans, they have a securities account with KELER Zrt,
  • In case of MNB-bill, they are direct members of VIBER and they have a securities account with KELER Zrt.
